NEW YORK – Andy White, a session musician who played drums on the first Beatles hit but spent his life on the edges of fame, has died, colleagues said Wednesday. He was 85.
SAN FRANCISCO, California — Apple unveiled on Monday a new subscription service, simply called "Apple Music," to compete with Spotify, Pandora and other services that are quickly redefining how consumers buy and listen to music.
Labels are pushing to get a larger chunk of revenue than they receive under their current deals with Spotify, a competing streaming service, people familiar with the negotiations said. Both sides want to complete a deal before Apple's June 8 annual event in San Francisco for more than 5,000 developers.
LOS ANGELES, California – Legendary U.S. soul artist Bobby Womack, who influenced and wrote for generations of musicians, died Friday aged 70, a spokeswoman said.
"This is something of a kid in a candy store situation for me," said The Edge. "I've been a fan of Fender guitars from the beginning, playing them on all the most important U2 tours and albums."
