The Air Surveillance Service (SVA) of Costa Rica's Public Security Ministry on Monday unveiled a new airplane meant to assist in anti-drug operations.Â
Michael Soto Rojas, the Minister of Public Security, said the effort — which involved MSP, National Police and the country's Air Surveillance Service — demonstrated the importance of cooperation between Costa Rica's police forces.
The embassy's donation will fund operations of the ministry's Air Surveillance Service – in particular, the special missions carried out using an aircraft seized from two drug smugglers.
A U.S. federal judge has postponed until next month a hearing in the drug smuggling case of two nephews of Venezuela's first lady. The hearing will now take place just days before Venezuelans go to the polls.
