Costa Rica's National Roadway Council director Alejandro Molina and a team of geologists have set off in a helicopter over Cinchona in search of a safe route to reconnect the village after a temporary bridge over El Angel River was washed away Wednesday by a landslide, isolating the devastated region again, according to the roadway council.
The 25-meter-long, 40-ton bridge was constructed Jan. 12, four days after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake killed 23 people, with seven still missing, and destroyed Cinchona. ( See map)
