MOSCOW – Russian President Dmitri Medvedev has tapped Vladimir Kurayev as its new ambassador to Costa Rica, according to Russian press reports.

If accepted by Costa Rica's government, Kurayev would take over from Valeri Nikolayenko, Russia's current envoy in San José who is preparing for retirement, the news service RIA-Novosti reported.
