Police in Spain's capital have arrested an alleged international drug trafficker who slipped out of Costa Rica before police here busted the ring.
Alfred Hermosin, 48, wanted in Costa Rica on charges of international drug trafficking, was arrested by the international police organization Interpol in Madrid Monday, according to a statement from Interpol.
Hermosin was the alleged logistics specialist in a drug ring that authorities in Costa Rica uncovered in April, seizing more than three metric tons of cocaine in a storage room. Hermosin allegedly bought the group's 40-foot trailer that was to be used to take the drugs northward to the United States. The drugs were allegedly found in a Heredia residence Hermosin had rented out.
Hermosin left Costa Rica for Spain the day before the Costa Rican raids, according to Interpol. |
