Tica Bus Gives Back |

Costa Rican bus company Tica Bus is treating more than 200 underprivileged schoolchildren to a free trip to the rain forest on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at INBiopark in Santo Domingo de Heredia. “All of us at Tica Bus are exited about the activity, which allows children of low income (families) to have a day they can remember forever,” said Tica Bus General Manager José López. Tica Bus also hopes the field trip will serve as a reminder that corporate social responsibility programs are even more important during tough economic times.

Clínica Bíblica Celebrates 80 Years |

Hospital Clínica Bíblica celebrates its 80th anniversary as a leading specialist in maternity care, cardiology, gastroenterology, urology, geriatrics, intensive care and surgery. The hospital, which began as a hostel and clinic for abandoned children in 1929, brought vaccines and health convoys to the country's most remote areas in the 1950s and 1960s. In 2003 the hospital expanded its services and inaugurated the Omega Medical Tower. By 2008 the hospital was declared a member of the Medical Tourism Association and was awarded international accreditation by Joint Commission International for compliance with world-recognized hospital quality standards.

National Car Rental in Costa Rica became the first rental car agency to receive the Prize for Excellence from Costa Rica's Chamber of Industries for its work in Customer Service and Market Awareness. The award ceremony, attended by President Oscar Arias, recognized leading businesses for their work in Technology and Innovation, Strategic Planning, and Human Resources, among other categories.
