Nicaragua Sends Two More Dredges to the Río San Juan

Edén Pastora announced Monday that the Nicaraguan government will deploy two additional dredges to the Río San Juan, which forms the eastern portion of the Nicaragua - Costa Rica border.

The Nicaraguan government will put two more dredges to work on the Río San Juan despite an open dispute with Costa Rica, according to Edén Pastora, the Sandinista ex-guerilla and overseer of the project.

Pastora, also known as Comandante Cero, declared over national Nicaraguan radio that the dredging of the Río San Juan has experienced “setbacks because of recent problems,” referring to Costa Rican claims that Nicaraguan troops have invaded territory that Costa Rica has claimed as its own.

Costa Rican authorities have demanded that the dredging product be halted because of its alleged negative effect on an area supposedly belonging to Costa Rica.

The Sandinista ex-guerrilla, who didn't provide a date for resumption of the dredging, noted that the project will have a duration of two years and that when the work is finished, large ships will be able to navigate the Río San Juan.

The National Port Company (EPN) would provide one of the new dredgers and the other is currently being built in the town of El Viejo, he explained.

This is no stunt by the Daniel Ortega. I can tell you that Costa Rica is attempting to steal Harbour Head from Nicaragua. I am a Professor of Polictics in New York who has studied the Maps of Cleveland & Alexander, and the Treaty of Cañas-Jerez. I can tell you plainly and the International Court of Justice will also find for Nicaragua. Costa Rica has deceived a populous including the UN in this theft. There have been over 50 attempts ranging back 100 years of Nicaragua’s government contacting Costa Rican authorities in the respect of limits. Costa Rica has already attempted to steal the Rio San Juan from Nicaragua and is slowly affecting Nicaragua’s border in an aggressive way. The ICJ already ruled the supremacy of Nicaragua in the Rio San Juan, and not content with this ruling, the costa ricans are attempting to use diplomatic tactics to try to rob Nicaragua by using the “theory politico.” That Nicaragua’s president Daniel Ortega is doing this to cover up his political ambitions. This is not true and Costa Rica knows it. This is not political, Nicaraguans just want Costa Rica to respect their sovereignty which the costa rican gov’t has taken as laissez-faire. I am meeting with a contingent of the UN Security Council and ECOSOC on Tuesday to make my finding present in the ICJ. Nicaragua has supremacy over Harbour Head, dubbed Isla Calero by the Costa Rican government.

Wow two new dredges.. when when Comandante O was enjoying the protection and hospitality of Costa Rica fighting againt Ortega living in Barra Del Colorado he left something behind..he went back to NIca land he forgot to take the "Love Child" he created while enjoying the company of a lonley local dove that roosted with him for a while as he wispered sweet nothings in her ear and said I will come back for you after the war....my dear wait for me here.....

After years of waiting for daddy to come back to Barra, Little Minus O has grown up into a fine boat captain. Maybe the Comandante can practice a little nepotism now that he is back in the chips and give that fine young man a job running one of the new dredges and let the boy get to know his stepmother in NIca land and share some of the luxury of living the life he missed as the son of a reborn Sandinista Comandante and genuine National hereo. Consider it to be the high cost of low living sir, and do the right thing and take care of your Costa Rican boy if he can get a work permit in Nica land.
