ICE GSM customers can now receive multimedia, text or an email message whenever they get new voice mail.

As of Sunday, the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) has implemented new features for kölbi cellphone users on the GSM network.

“ICEVOZ” will use a new voice-mail storage system located on the platforms of the new 3.5 Generation network.

ICE GSM customers will be notified via multimedia messaging – on phones that allow it – or text, whenever there is new voice mail. Users will also receive an audio notification to their personal email account, among other benefits.

To access the new voice-mailbox, customers must follow these steps:

1. Dial 1190.

2. Listen to the tutorial (available in English).

3. Enter a new password between 4 and 7 digits, followed by the “#” symbol.

4. After this process, the system will prompt you to record your name.

5. Finally, record your personal greeting.

“We knew this was something that our customers were expecting. With the change, GSM customers will reach a more user-friendly and dynamic mailbox menu,” said Danny Salas, director of client solutions management at ICE.

Customers can still check voice mail in the old box, but only until Feb. 21. To do so, they should dial 8999-1190 and follow the steps as usual.

For more information, dial 1115 or 1193, or visit http://www.kolbi.cr.
