Delta adds new direct flights to the Liberia Airport

Posted: Friday, July 29, 2011 - By Karla Arias Alvarado

Beginning in January, Delta Airlines will add a new nonstop flight from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to Liberia, capital of the northwestern province of Guanacaste.

The new route will run once a week, every Saturday, using 160-seat Boeing 737-800.

The Atlanta-based airline is one of the dominant carriers for the twin cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota.

The Daniel Oduber (Liberia) Airport is inaugurating a $27 million terminal that will expand the airport's capacity from 900 people to 1,500 (TT, April 13).
