CINDE Job Fair being held in Antigua Aduana from February 10, 2012 to Febuary 12, 2012. An interesed applicant gets his questions answered by a company willing to hire.
The Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency (CINDE) organized the eighth Annual Bilingual Job Fair in Costa Rica this weekend. From Friday to Sunday, more than 8,000 people are expected to visit the fair in the Antigua Aduana in downtown San José.
Some 40 multinational companies will be present at the fair, and they will be looking for English, French, Portuguese, German and Danish speaking personnel. The companies are looking for employees in the areas such as finance, mechanics, software development, web design, microbiology and customer service.
On Friday morning, the fair was packed with people looking for jobs. One of the companies present was Curtiss & Wright. The company started operations in the country last year and is looking to grow. A representative said the company hired half its current staff at least year’s fair.
According to CINDE executive director Gabriela Llobet, this is the largest number of companies that have attended the fair.
Some of the companies present in the job fair are: Amba Research, Amway, Body Building, Citi, DHL, IBM, Aegis, Convergys, Dell, Pacific Interpreters, Experian, Arthrocare, St Jude Medical, Curtiss & Wright, Boston Scientific, Curtis Wright Dole, Emerson, Fujitsu, Bank of America, Amazon, Concentrix, Startek and Scotiabank.
Companies will only take digitally formatted resumes. The fair will take place on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entrance is free.
