PHOTOS: International Museum Day in Costa Rica
May 18 is International Museum Day, and Costa Rica celebrated with 31 mini-museums all in one at the Casa del Cuño behind the Antigua Aduana building in east-central San José. The idea was to show off all the cultural and education opportunities offered at the many museums here. Some of the museums on display are small, such as the boyero (oxcart driver) museum in Sarapiquí, and others are well known and popular. About 2,500 children attended with their teachers. What’s more, all the museums were free on Museum Day.
