Tree branches crisscross the moon in the middle of its eclipse on Saturday morning. The eclipse was partial and brief, and the moon set behind the horizon before its zenith, but the event was visible for nearly an hour. The last eclipse visible in Costa Rica took place during last year’s Semana Santa, and the conspicuous timing excited some Christian leaders, who anticipated the second coming of Christ. No messianic sightings were reported.
