Tamarindo Talk

May 31, 2013

Texas hold ‘em poker lovers will be happy to learn that the 3 Kings Poker League tournament has returned to Tamarindo. Unfortunately, the open play has ended but the Final Table event of the season will take place June 2 at the Casino Diria. The top 3 vying for the $3,000-plus reward are Henrik Bodholdt at no. 1, Luis Alejandro Giralt at no. 2 and Giovanni Valverde at no. 3.  If you really have the fix, you can play poker in Playas del Coco on Thursdays at Zi Lounge. For more information, go to the league’s facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/3KingsPokerEvents.

The wonderful yoga teacher Marcela Nuñoz now teaches classes at Tamarindo Gimnasio on Monday and Wednesday at 7 p.m.

And over at SER Om Shanti Yoga Studio, in addition to its regular slate of yoga classes, there is now a class on salsa, merengue, samba and other Latin rhythms taught by Alejandra Parody. The lessons are Thursday at 7 p.m., and the studio is located in the ABC Realty building on the second floor.

This morning at 9 a.m. will be the 2013 Pura Vida Ride Paddle Battle at Las Catalinas, Playa Danta.  This is the 3rd annual event, and the prize is a $2,500 Surftech Jamie Mitchell Lahui Kai 12’6 Race Standup Paddle Board (which just happens to be what the winner of the 2012 Paddle Battle was using).

If you need more information, go to the facebook page for Pura Vida Ride Paddle Battle 2013.

There’s been a lot of talk about the Antares Sailing Adventures because the boat is an 80-foot Sparkman and Stephens schooner built in 1947. It has a pedigree of winning races all around the world. Trips are $80 per person including open bar, snacks, food and snorkel gear. You can book at trip by emailing info@costapm.com or calling 8667-7054 or 6090-8005.
