On Sept. 16, the Las Catalinas and Playa Dante community hosted the first annual free bike parade around Las Catalinas, which included strollers, tricycles, bicycles and other things with wheels. There was a wheel-decorating station and a dressage show, with Friesian horses as well as pony rides for the kids.

Pura Vida Ride offered $10 rentals throughout the morning, and Lola’s offered a free pizza-making station for the children. Everybody had a great time.

Maxwell’s Restaurant and Bar in Surfside/Potrero will be open throughout September and October, so check with Kelly and Mike for specials and events. For more info, call 2654-4319.

All proceeds from Ruta La Paz go to the La Paz scholarship program, which is now providing scholarships for 25 students. The program allows the school to accommodate various socioeconomic levels, bridging the resource gap between families.
