Flamingo/Potrero News

August 1, 2012

A celebration of the Annexation of Guanacaste was held Wednesday, July 25, at Las Catalinas at Lola’s Norte in Playa Danta. Llano students demonstrated how to make traditional corn tortillas and put on a dance performance. Bahía del Sol shared meals and Mar y Sol hosted an all-you-can-eat buffet in celebration of this special holiday.

Long-time Potrero resident Ralph Solano loves fishing, and with his unique style he has been catching marlin, rooster fish, snapper and other types of fish off the coast of the Potrero Bay. In the early morning, he paddles out to sea in hard body kayaks and guides his clients just far enough away from the beach to enjoy the view of the coastline. Canadian airline WestJet announced that flights will connect Toronto to Daniel Oduber International Airport in Liberia from Oct. 29 through April 27. The twice weekly service will run on Mondays and Saturdays.
