Last month’s leg two of the 2012 Los Sueños Signature Billfish Series showed an increase in participation with 156 anglers releasing 668 billfish.  The top angler was Francis Johnson, Jr., representing the boat “Sea Fix.”

First place went to the boat “Bandolera” and Captain Ronnie Fields, second place to “C’est Tout Bon” and Captain Shannon Pecot and third place to “Never Say Never” and Captain Dennis Ward. The next meeting of the Central Pacific Women’s Group is Wed., April 18, at Hotel Cocal from 9-11 a.m. Lunch is included, as is jewelry-making instruction.

All who participate will learn to make pendants and will walk away with their very own piece of jewelry. Participation costs $10, watching the meeting is free. All materials will be provided. Please contact Kathy Lynn prior to April 12 so she can be prepared with enough materials. Tomorrow, there more than 3,000 athletes will participate in the Jacó Extreme Challenge, which is set to begin with a Running Expo from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., followed by the race at 4 p.m. It starts at the Morgan’s Cove Hotel. For more information, please visit www.atletismoextremo.com.
