Seabird Sailing catamaran hosted a special sunset cruise with Don Carlos & SAB and Special Guest: Brent “The Alien” Bailey from Ronnie Hawkins & The Band. The cruise included all drinks (wine, beer, rum punch, cocktails), fruits, BBQ, snorkeling, kayaking and live music, for a special price.

At Marie’s on March 9-March 11, Centro commercial La Plaza presented the 3rd Annual Festival de Arte, with art and cultural exhibits. They can be viewed on Friday from 2-10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.

The Village Community Center, nestled on the main road between Huacas and Brasilito, is newly renovated and seeking new proprietors along with support and involvement of the local community. Currently, The Village is home to The Beach Nuts Theatre Company, Soul y Paz and Dance Studio, Cecile’s Bakery, Music Academy and Recording Studio, ReMax Beach Realty, Maison de Madeleine Café and Music Together, a program for kids. The Village Community Center strives to provide a “sense of community”, while offering a safe and enjoyable place for kids to gather together. Our vision is to offer a place to connect through music, arts and crafts, dance, food and well-being.  As the saying goes: “It takes a village to restore a community,” so if you or someone you know has an interest in joining our village by renting a space or volunteering, please contact Pam at info@conchalvillage.com.

Beach Community Church will host our annual Spring Festival on Saturday, March 31 starting at 9 a.m. at The Village in Brasilito. There will be games, prizes, inflatables and an Easter egg hunt. Plan to come and enjoy this special day.

With the incredible heat and super high winds, fires have been burning amok. Many acres have caught fire and continue to burn all the way from Flamingo to Huacas. The air has been thick with multicolored layers of dense smoke and the local fire department has been putting out fires with their fire truck hoses. By the time you read this, hopefully all will be back to normal.
