Tamarindo Talk

December 21, 2011

Mariel Marmorato has returned from Argentina, where she did an intensive study to improve her teaching skills at her Ser Om Shanti yoga facility in Tamarindo. She has already updated her classes to reflect the new knowledge, and her materials have a beautiful new graphic to identify the changes. Classes last 75 minutes, and some feature an optional free meditation at the end. For schedules and prices, call 8346-8005 or 8706-1566, or email marielyoga@hotmail.com.

After Christmas, everyone in town will be looking for New Year’s Eve parties, and Tamarindo never disappoints. Of course, Bar1, Sharky’s and Pacifico will offer festivities for all. El Garito, being owned by a couple of DJs, will end the year with a DJ lineup featuring Mobius Strum, Esteban Howell and others.

Aqua will welcome 2012 with a New Year’s Eve White Party. The first 500 people to show up in white will be given a New Year’s Eve kit including hat, necklaces, noisemakers and more. Adding to the fun will be three live DJs and models. Admission to the dual-level disco will cost ₡5,000 ($10). For VIP table reservations, send a text to 8702-2925 or email lindseyaqua@gmail.com.
