Lots of sports activities are coming up in the Central Pacific. The 2011 National Bodyboarding Championship will be held Oct. 1 at the Backyard in Playa Hermosa, with open, women’s, drop knee and junior categories. For more information, email asociaciondebodyboardercr@gmail.com or call 8927-4497.

Pacific Law and Consulting Firm and the Costa Rican Attorneys Association invite golfers to the third El Abogado y Sus Clientes (Lawyer and Client) Golf Tournament Oct. 1 at La Iguana Golf Course at the Los Sueños Marriott in Playa Herradura. Also, the Marriott and BMW are co-sponsoring an Eco Cup including a triathlon, open-water swim and 10K run. The open-water swim is set for Oct. 15 and the 10K run for Oct. 29. The swim is a quarter of a nautical mile for children or one nautical mile for adults. To register for the swim, go to www.aguasabiertas.com. The cost is ₡15,000 ($30) and the registration deadline is Oct. 7. The 10K Eco Run will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Marriott on Oct. 29. The entry fee is $30, $3 of which will go to the Save the Turtles Program at the Playa Hermosa refuge. Register at Runners stores or at www.gsgx.net.
