Manuel Antonio/Quepos Tidings

September 14, 2011

Hotel California has come up with an interesting weekly event: speed dating, every Saturday in September from 7 to 10:30 p.m. The event consists of five-minute rounds at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30, with 12 women and 12 men per round. Entry is free. The hotel will offer specials on beer, cocktails and alcohol-free beverages. This is a nice way for people who don’t want to go to bars to meet a potential mate or some new friends. For more information and to sign up, call 2777-3395.

Villas Lirio has some fun events at the end of each week: live tropical romantic music on Thursdays, salsa and merengue with dance classes on Fridays, and sushi on Sundays. They also have happy hour every day from 5 to 7 p.m., with two-for-one beer and national liquors. For more information or to make reservations, call 2777-1182, email eventos@casarolandmanuelantonio.com or visit www.casaroland.com.

Quepos has a new Peruvian restaurant, Gran Inca, across from the Ramus Bar. It’s open for dinner from 6 to 10 p.m. For information, call 2777-4147. Salsipuedes Tapas Bar and Restaurant, in front of Banco Promérica in Manuel Antonio, has announced it will remain open all through low season for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For information, call Michael and Marcela at 2777-5019.
