Hotel California has come up with an interesting weekly event: speed dating, every Saturday in September from 7 to 10:30 p.m. The event consists of five-minute rounds at 7:30, 8:30 and 9:30, with 12 women and 12 men per round. Entry is free. The hotel will offer specials on beer, cocktails and alcohol-free beverages. This is a nice way for people who don’t want to go to bars to meet a potential mate or some new friends. Villas Lirio has some fun events at the end of each week: live tropical romantic music on Thursdays, salsa and merengue with dance classes on Fridays, and sushi on Sundays. Salsipuedes Tapas Bar and Restaurant, in front of Banco Promérica in Manuel Antonio, has announced it will remain open all through low season for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
