Jacó Happenings

July 28, 2011

Dick Tanner from CR Primo Fishing Tackle in Herradura organized the “Where’s The Meat” Fishing Tournament early this month. Congratulations to the winners: The Combo and Largest Dorado prize went to the boat “Let Er Rip” ; the Largest Wahoo went to “Ol’ Salt” and the Largest Tuna went to “Shake and Bake,” who got to the weigh in station with two minutes to spare, beating out “Hook”. For more information on fishing in the area, contact Dick at 2637-6111

Fresh organic produce is now available to all of the residents of the Central Pacific, thanks to Terry Ulloa, who is offering a weekly delivery service to Jacó, featuring 100% organic produce from Finca Orgánica San Luis. Welcome Alexander Alfaro, who joined transit police of Garabito on June 1. The police headquarters is across from the post office in Jacó, next to CenCinai. The transit police would like to inform the public that after 6 p.m., bicyclists are supposed to wear reflective vests, helmets, and have bike lights, according to the Transit Act of Costa Rica.

For those who want to know what is happening in local government here in Garabito, TV Jacó will be broadcasting the City Council meetings on Fridays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information call 2643-2043.

Anyone needed the RITEVE car inspection this month can get help with Autotica on the Costanera, which offers a 41-point process to help prepare your car. If you don’t feel like taking the time to go down to RITEVE in Paritta, they can even take it for you for an additional fee. Contact Rosa at Autotica at 2643-2169.
