Tamarindo Talk

June 16, 2011

Enjoy yoga, a hike and a nice lunch every Thursday at Lola’s del Norte at Las Catalinas in Playa Danta. It’s a really nice activity put together by Amy Jones. The day begins at 8:30 a.m. with 60 minutes of vinyasa yoga, followed by a 4.3-kilometer hike with stunning ocean views and topped off with a great lunch. The cost is $30. For more information, contact Amy at avellana mama@yahoo.com.

Another great spiritual activity takes place every Monday at Ser Om Shanti in Tamarindo. This is a meditation-mantra-reading class designed to get you in a deep state of concentration to quiet the mind and focus on your true self. The class starts at 4 p.m. The cost is a voluntary contribution, 50 percent of which will go to the Oneida children’s park.

Despite the community’s efforts to stop the building of the Claro tower at Casa La Carolina, between Villa Verdes II and Los Sueños I condominiums, construction has begun. The 60-meter tower will have a 20-by-20-meter base.

The Robert August Surf & Turf scheduled for June 30 to July 3 has been canceled because Robert has shoulder surgery scheduled. We wish the legend a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in the surf lineup very soon.
