The pre-K class from La Paz Community School recently visited Cecile’s Panadería in the Conchal shopping center, where the tots learned about baking and used their newly acquired skills to bake their own goods. The class also made pizzas and afterward enjoyed the food.
The La Paz school also had a schoolwide trip to Flamingo Beach on March 25 to culminate its current theme of wellness. The students participated in the second annual La Paz Wellness Olympics in mixed-grade teams, with a lot of fun but fierce competition, including among the teachers who raced against each other. Everyone got to jump in the ocean and cool off before heading back to school.
At the Country Day School in Brasilito, National Junior Honor Society members recently returned from participating in a leadership and team-building workshop and ropes course. One highlight included classmate Simone Augustine’s primal howl on the Tarzan swing, which was reportedly heard 10 miles away. Thanks to advisers Kim Baldwin and Amanda Bustos for guiding these leaders in some exhilarating new experiences.
