Jacó Happenings

July 23, 2010

The McKee Project Jacó is inviting everyone to its next fundraiser with a silent auction and live music by Chupacabras on Saturday, August 14 at Jacó Taco. The door opens at 5p.m. A $20 contribution includes free dinner, a margarita, dancing and a lot of fun! All proceeds go to the rescue and rehabilitation of homeless animals.

For tickets call 2643-4012 or stop by the veterinary clinic in

Plaza Boulevard

or Herradura Plaza Caravan.

Do you want to improve your Spanish or learn to cook like a Tica? Books & Stuff owner and long time Jacó resident Glenn Reinhart, along with employees Sue Wardle and Yuli Vargas, are offering 15% off all new Costa Rican cookbooks and language learning books through August.

The bookstore is in the center of town, 25 meters north of Tabacón Restaurant, open daily from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.

The deadline to sign up for the Central Pacific Chamber of Commerce’s Art Prize is Thursday, July 28. Registration cost is ¢10,000 to enter your artwork for the weeklong display of Art in Jacó. The public votes for the top three winners. First prize is ¢1,500,000. For more information, contact the chamber at 2643-2853.
