Quepos has a great new jewelry store called Laxshmi Arte y Diseño, next to Lynch Travel. It’s been open for about a month and has breathtaking original designs. They can also make items to order. Two new restaurants have also opened in Quepos. Acai Sandwiches and Smoothies, serving sandwiches, salads, smoothies, coffee and lots more, is above Super Más, across the street from the bus station. It’s open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The people in charge are Hazel Waterman and Ernesto Saavedra. For information, call 8896-8267. The other restaurant is Hurricane Café. It has a surf motif, and the food looks really interesting, with crepes, waffles, smoothies and baguettes.
Open daily from 2:30 to 8:30 p.m., the restaurant is next to Wacky Wanda’s, in front of Kamuk. For more information, call the owner, Tino, at 8927-8622.
“911 Rescue,” a lifeguard fundraising party featuring DJs Sweet Bo and Eleazar Delve, is set for Jan. 30 at 9 p.m. at Liquid Lounge in Manuel Antonio. Proceeds will go toward buying equipment for our lifeguards.
