With loosely laced skates and big smiles on their faces, thousands of Nicaraguan youths are getting a unique chance to slip and slide across the country’s first public ice skating rink, part of the Sandinista government’s free, month-long “Happy Children Amusement Park” in Managua’s Plaza de la Fe.
