Have you heard about a new type of fitness called zumba? It’s an aerobic workout that fuses Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program, and it’s a fun, different and effective way to stay in shape. Classes are held at the Jungle Gym in Flamingo Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 to 10 a.m., and cost ¢2,000 ($3.40) per person. The instructor, Norma, is a friend of Van Salcedo.

Beach CommunityChurch recently hosted an inductive Bible study as an outreach project for the community. About 140 area residents showed up for the three-day event. Food and drink was provided for all participants. Wayne and Brooke Gorganson from San Ramón de Alajuela, northwest of the capital, came to teach and worship with the congregation. Wayne has been teaching inductive Bible study for 17 years through Intensive Care Ministries, and has traveled to several continents to teach this method of study geared toward pastors and teachers. Brooke is a composer, singer and worship leader with many years of experience. We thank them for sharing their talents with us.
