Take It From the Top

August 1, 2008

Italian pianist Francesco Libetta, seen here conducting, is one of the hot tickets on the Credomatic Music Festival program (see schedule on page W11), which, starting this week and running through Aug. 17, is bringing classical musicians from North America and Europe to woo audiences from San José to the Pacific and the Caribbean. Libetta has the honors of performing at National Theater’s Credomatic curtain-opener Aug. 9, with a concert including works by Schumann, Chopin and Liszt. Other festival performers include Aspro Dolce, Berlin Brass, Doelen Quartet and Tica soprano Iride Martínez.
