Italian Drug-Runner Busted With Coke in Her Stomach

February 29, 2008
Drug Control Police arrested an Italian woman at the Juan Santamaría International Airport with 77 capsules of cocaine in her stomach.
Authorities said the suspect gave herself away while waiting to board her flight to Milan on Feb. 19 when she vomited 19 of 77 capsules. It wasn’t until four days later, still in police custody, that she vomited the other 58 tablets.
According to a press release, each capsule contained nine grams of cocaine, for a total of 693 grams.
The accused is still in police custody.
