HOMEOWNERS and homeowner wannabes will find drapes, doorknobs, sofas, fixtures, tiles and TV stands, as well as houses to keep them in, at the third annual ExpoCasa Aug. 24-28.Approximately 110 companies, heavy on the interior-design side, will set up shop in 183 stands to hawk the goods that make houses more comfortable, and the financing plans to afford them. The Hotel Herradura convention center in Cariari, west of San José, will host the event, which organizers anticipate will attract as many as 10,000 people.Real-estate companies, banks and interior decorators under the same roof, together with interior-design experts, will assist and guide homeowners and house-hunters in a fair-like atmosphere, making the shopping experience more bearable.Features include live music by the internationally acclaimed and Grammy winning trio Editus, daily prizes, such as a bicycle or a stove, and an exhibit by U.S. expatriate photographer Joshua Wilson (TT, June 24). The hotel has ample parking space and shuttle service between the event hall and the parking lot, as well as a cafeteria.Century 21, Stewart Title and the Costa Rican Construction Chamber, with the support of Congrex, an event organizer, are sponsoring the expo.
